The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has condemned the abduction of 24 students of the Federal University Gusau Zamfara state by Bandits.
Addressing a news conference on the development, spokesperson of the Group, Abdul Azeez Suleiman called on the federal government and security agencies to rise to the occasion and secure the release of the abducted students.
The Group expressed reservation at how the criminals masterminded the incident in broad day light, saying many schools have been forced to shut down in the state due to the rising trend of kidnapping targeted at soft spots including pupils and staudents.
Suleiman further emphasised on reasons why the government and security agencies should deployed more strategies to address the concern especially as it affects the north.
Meanwhile, in a related development, the CNG highlighted its recently concluded 2 day workshop on budget tracking for it’s personnel indicating that the target is to further hold the government accountable in the management of the economy.
Other takeaways from the workshop includes building their capacity in Budgetary processes, enhanced tracking skills, effective advocacy techniques, Network building among others.
