The Minister of Education Prof. Tahir Mamman has inaugurated an eight-man committee to develop a roadmap for the education sector in line with the “Renewed Hope” agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
Prof Mamman, while inaugurating the committee in Abuja said the decision to have a road map underscores the urgency to kick start a clearly defined path aimed at crafting a turnaround in the nations education system.
The Committee according to Prof Mamman is expected to work with a terms of reference that will capture the menace of out of school children, quality education, infrastructural defits in both basic and Tertiary Institutions among other challenges in the sector.
The Committee was further tasked to explore the possibility to have an education system that embraces technology with expectation to respond to the demands of the society.
The Committee with membership comprising of Prof. Ernest Ojukwu, Prof. Sa’ad Umar, Shulamite Paul, Dr Garba Ibrahim, Prof. Ismail Junaidu, Hajia Hindatu Abdullahi and Joseph Achede who will serve as secretary have a four weeks’ timeframe to deliver on their assignment.
