The Armed Forces of Nigeria has once again assured of it’s zero tolerance to security threats and all forms of criminalities, with emphasis to ensure that Terrorists, violent extremist groups do not find safe haven in Nigeria.
Addressing a Press conference on the Strides achieved by troops in diverse operations as at August 31st 2023, the Director Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba stated that a total of 39 terrorists were neutralized, with 150 others arrested including 109 kidnapped hostages that were rescued in the period under review.
Gen.Buba further traced the successes to the raid operations, air interdiction missions, ambush on terrorist at diverse location of operations initiated by the troops in the Northern part of the country.
The Defence spokeman who also x-rayed the activities of troops of Operation Delta Safe in the South South Zone, further indicated that crude oil theft that would have cost the nation over Seven Hundred and Sixty-Five Million naira shortfall in revenue was averted with 16 perpetrators arrested within one week.
The military high command says it will not relent in the task to rid the country of all Criminal elements, insisting that the ongoing onslaught against insurgency and other security vices would be sustained.
