An interest group has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently intervene in resolving the intrigue playing out in the delay of the ministerial confirmation of the Delta state nominee, Stella Okotete.
The Coordinator, Coalition of Niger Delta Group, Comrade, Prince Awhotu made the call at a news conference in Abuja.
Calling on the President to prevail on the senate to confirm the former All Progressives Congress, APC Women Leader, Prince Awhotu said, she is one of the best and reliable hands the Region has to offer.
He further noted that considering the rich qualification and wealth of experience of Stella Oketete, it will be best viewed as an oversight by the senate to have not given her an easy passage to serve Nigeria. Some members of the group also lend their voice to the call.
Forty five out of forty eight ministerial nominees were confirmed by the Nigerian senate.
Three of the nominees not confirmed by the senate include former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, Danladi Abubakar from Taraba and Stella Okotete of Delta States subject to security clearance.
