FG, Convexity Technologies Collaborate On Data Protection, Privacy

As part of efforts to shield data of over two hundred million Nigerians from being compromised, the Nigeria Data Protection Bureau is working towards developing sectoral guidelines to enhance data protection and privacy.

The National Commissioner, NDPB, Vincent Olatunji disclosed this at a one day stakeholders engagement forum organised by a leading technologies solution company, Convexity in Abuja.

Represented by the Head, Legal, Enforcement and Regulations, Babatunde Bamigboye, the NDPB Commissioner said data does not belong to either the government or Non-Governmental Organisations as such, certain parameters have been developed to be followed in data protection.

The Chief of Operations, Convexity Technologies, who is also a Data Forensic Investigator, Adedeji Owonibi said need to correct Nigeria’s international battered image especially when developmental grant is concern forced him into creating a globally accepted platform for data protection.

The Director, Dominieum Blockchain, Mohammed Jega, called for more enlightenment on data privacy. The forum however, warned that data should be collected in a responsible manner by following all regulations as data privacy is taken seriously world over.
