The Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (rtd) has urged the incoming administration to carry the Armed Forces along in efforts to restore peace and security in the country.
General Magashi who stated this while delivering his farewell speech during a Valedictory Dinner organised by the Ministry in his honour thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for giving him the opportunity to serve especially in the security sector.
He said the Armed Forces will continue to discharged it’s statutory responsibilities to keep the nation safe against any form of threat and aggression.
While applauding the synergy between the Service Chiefs, the outgoing minister of Defence urged them to continue to work in synergy with other security agencies to tackle the common problem of insecurity in the country.
In their Valedictory messages, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Defence along side the Service Chiefs, applauded the leadership qualities of Gen Magashi and his immense support in ensuring that the Armed Forces deliver on it’s mandate.
Major General Bashir Magashi was appointed as minster of Defence by President Mohammadu Buhari in 2019.
