Ahead of the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly and ongoing horse trading on the Geopolitical zone that will produce it’s leadership, the Inter Party Advisory Council IPAC has made case for the South South and South East zones.
Arising from its general assembly meeting in Abuja, the council said the gesture will ensured that every zone was accommodated in the power sharing equation.
Addressing a news conference, IPAC Chairman, Engr Yagbaji Sani advocated the need for deliberate actions that will help to unite the nation and put to an end the worrying trend of the winner takes all syndrome.
The Council also charged President Elect, Ashiwaji Bola Tinubu on the merit for more appointment of women and youths in government saying no nation makes progress without their active participation.
Meanwhile, IPAC raised concerns over the ethno-religious sentiments that characterized the 2023 general election nomination of Presidential candidates and campaigns, which polarized the nation and undermined issues-based campaigns and assured of efforts to change the narrative.
