Seated in this hall are senior officers of the Nigerian police force. Their mission is simple, to review progress made in the fight against crime and how strategies deployed can be improved upon. In his welcome remarks, the acting Inspector General of police, Mohammed Adamu highlighted several successes recorded by the force since the launch of operation Puff Adder, saying about 157 kidnappers, 218 armed robbery suspects have been arrested with 190 firearms of various description recovered in the last one month.
Despite these gains the police boss said more ground still needs to be covered
IGP Mohammed who assured Nigerians of the commitment of the police to ensure safety of lives and properties, said operation Puff Adder has been replicated in states with high cases of internal security threats.
