Census: NPC Commences Training Of Comptroller’s Nationwide.

Ahead of the 2023 Census,the
National Population Commission has commenced training of Comptrollers in charge of the 774 Local Government Areas Offices Nationwide.

According to a statement by the Director, Public Affairs Of the Commission, Isiaka Yahaya the training is on critical processes of the Census as well as the Comptrollers’ role in the workflow.

The purpose of the training is to equip Comptrollers with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their duties effectively during the Census exercise,he said.

The training is expected to be practical-oriented, focusing on specific tasks and skills that the Comptrollers require to execute thier assignments.

The training is to commence on Tuesday, the 7th of March, 2023 and ends on 9th March is to be conducted in two States per geo-political zone of Nigeria.

For the Northwest- Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, Kaduna, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara.

Northeast- Gombe, Taraba, Adamawa, Bauchi, Yobe, Borno,.

North Central- Nasarawa, FCT, Plateau, Benue, Kwara, Kogi, Niger.

Southwest – Oyo, Lagos, Ogung, Ondo, Ekiti, Osun.

South South- Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo.

Southeast – Anambra, Abia, Imo, Ebonyi, Enugu..

All the Comptrollers are expected to undergo training on the focus areas of the 2023 Census processes by 60 Resource persons drawn from various departments of the Commission on: Census Methodology, Field Operations, Data Quality Management amongst others to equip them for the job.

The Commission restated it’s commitment to give the nation a reliable and acceptable census data for evidence based development planning and enjoined Nigerians to support the Commission by making themselves available to be counted during the exercise.
