Less than forty eight hours to the 2023 general elections, security agencies have again assured of their readiness to defend the nations democracy at all cost.
The Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General, Tukur Gusau stated this at a joint Security Agencies Press briefing at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. He said the Nigerian Armed force has set up a monitoring team to over see the election processes in the country to ensure a hitch-free polls.
Representative of the Nigeria Police, CSP, Olumuyiwa Adejobi and that of the Department of State Services, Peter Afunaya pledged their commitment to ensure that the country’s security is not compromised before, during and after the election.
The Joint Security Election Monitoring Task Force however, urged Nigerians to embrace peace at all times and make good use of the official channels provided to contact the security agencies in the event of any complaint.
