Abuja Online Publishers Forum, (AOPF) has assured the newly elected President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade, Joe Ajaero and his team of its support to succeed in office.

This was contained in a statement jointly singed by the Interim Chairman, Martins Odiete and the Secretary, Shola Akingboye in Abuja.

The statement made available to Channel Network Afrique, (CNA) acknowledged that the emergence of the new NLC leadership without any rancour or opposition by all the stakeholders was a clear proof of the confidence reposed on the Ajaero led Exco due to their sterling labour struggle credentials as well as being the right choice of the people that will lead to a more robust labour movement in the country.

“Your emergence unopposed by all stakeholders is a clear proof of the confidence in your sterling labour struggle credentials and the right choice to meet the yearnings of the labour movement in Nigeria.

“AOPF is aware of your proven integrity, hard work and pedigree as the voice of the voiceless and we look forward to a new vista of progress in Nigeria’s labour struggle under your watch,” it stated.

While wishing the new executive body a successful tenure in office, the statement also urged the NLC leadership to form a formidable partnership with AOPF in order to take the Nigeria Labour Movement to a new enviable height.

“We look forward to a cordial relationship and pledge our commitment to building a formidable partnership with the new NLC leadership as you strive to take the labour movement to greater heights,” it stated

Comrade Joe Ajaero took over the mantle of leadership from Comrade Ayuba Wabba on February 9 at the end of the 13th quadrennial National Delegates’ conference of Congress in Abuja.

It would be recalled that Comrade, Ajaero recently said his team would seek to reconnect more strongly to build greater solidarities with the people rising once again to be carriers of their desires and amplifiers of their voices.

He also emphasised that the new exco would not only speak for 133 million Nigerians who are multi-dimensionally poor but shall also seek platforms to lift the shackles of poverty from the shoulders of the Nigerian people.
