Mock Accreditation: CTA Commends INEC On Improvement Of BVAS.
The Centre for Transparency Advocacy CTA has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission over the performance of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation system during the mock accreditation exercise held across 436 polling units across the country on Saturday 4th February 2023.
Addressing a news conference in Abuja on its findings,the CTA Executive Director, Faith Nwadishi who expressed satisfaction with reports from the165 observers deployed to monitor the exercise however lamented over the low turnout of voters due to low publicity and mobilisation.
Analysis of the field report across the states Nwadishi added indicates enthusiasm and confidence by Nigerians in the use of B-VAS for the general election.
To ensure there are no gaps with few days to the polls,the CTA boss highlighted emerging issues both INEC and prospective voters should watch out for.
Nwadishi further solicited the support of key stakeholders to the various reform’s by INEC to change the narrative in the nations political history and conduct elections that would reflect the wishes of Nigerians.
