FG Calls For Synergy Among Security Agencies To Tackle Insecurity

The Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammad Dingyadi has assured of smooth working relationship of the nations security agencies in efforts to combat criminal activities bedeviling the country.

The Minister gave the assurance when he played host to a delegation for the West Africa Police Information system WAPIS in Abuja. Dingyadi who noted the gap in information sharing among the security agencies expressed optimism that the outcome of the meeting will help change the narrative.

Meanwhile, the head of the delegation and the Executive Director of INTERPOL, Kavanach Steven, in his remarks emphasized the role of data in dealing with trans border crimes.

The meeting was attended by some heads of security agencies including the Comptroller General of Immigration, Director General of National Drug law Enforcement Agency among others.

The West African Police Information System (WAPIS) data collection and recording Centre is a programme that promotes inter-agency collaboration through the sharing of criminal and administrative data that will help improve and strengthen the security architecture of the country, West Africa region and the world at large.
