IPAC Warns Against Plot To Remove INEC Chairman,Backs BVAS For 2023 Election. The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has faulted moves by those it described as reactionary forces to remove the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Prof Mahmood Yakubu on frivolous allegations of false assets declaration few weeks to the 2023 General Election.

Addressing a news conference after it’s emergency general council meeting in Abuja, IPAC Chairman, Engr Sani Yagbaji linked the development to the resolve by INEC to conduct a transparent and credible elections.

Yagbaji who was represented by IPAC National Secretary, Alhaji Yusuf Dantalle affirmed the councils vote of confidence in the Prof Yakubu led electoral body as well as expressed satisfaction with the preparation, arrangements and measures especially as it relates to deployment of innovations to conduct next month general election.

Commending the judiciary for coming to the rescue and upholding the rule of law, IPAC warned the interested parties behind the frivolous petition to desists from actions that could truncate the nations hard earned democracy.

Dantalle who also used the opportunity to react on other electoral related issues expressed worry over the rising trend of insecurity in some states and urged the security agencies to rise to the occasion.

The Council further urged Nigerians to take advantage of the timeframe as established by INEC to collect their permanent voters card. It also wants the international community to beam their searchlight on Nigeria as events unfold to the 25th February and 11th march presidential and National Assembly and Governorship and state assembly elections.
