A Civil Society Organisation under the auspices of Arewa Youth Consultative Movement and the Middle Belt Youth Forum has passed a vote of confidence on the new cash withdrawal limit policy by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Addressing a press conference in Abuja, the Convener of the groups, Godwin Meliga said the policy will hand over the control of money in circulation back to the CBN as well as ensure better management and control of the economy, inflation, and other factors targeted at improving the loves of Nigerians.
He further said the policy will check the activities of vote buyers, money launderers, and financial criminals and help move major economic innovations.
Meliga also used the occasion to urge the National Assembly to key in to the policy.
It will be recalled that the Central Bank by a letter to all Deposit Money Banks released on Tuesday directed the banks to permit cash withdrawal limits from across the counter, Automated Teller Machines (ATM), and Point of Sale (POS) machines.
