Over 93 million Nigerians will decide the fate of who takes over from Mohammadu Buhari as president of Nigeria.
This is inview of the announcement by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC,Prof Mahmood Yakubu that after the mop up of figures from the continuous voters Registration exercise, that nations voters register now stand at 93m,522,272.
Yakubu who gave the indication at the third quarterly meeting with the leadership of political parties at the Commission headquarters in Abuja,said the register will be displayed at designated centers across the country from Saturday 12th to Friday 25th November 2022.
He further said it’s officials involved in the fictitious registration will face disciplinary action.
The INEC boss also used the opportunity to reassure the party leadership and Nigerians that there is no going back on the commission’s resolve to deploy technology in the conduct of the 2023 general election.
Responding,the chairman of the Inter Party Advisory Council IPAC, Yagbaji Sani expressed confidence in the INEC leadership, insisting their resolve to resists moves to undermine the integrity of next year’s election.
Other takeaways from the meeting includes the need for a seamless political campaigns by political parties, candidates and their supporters.
