The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) says it’s economic diversification drive through its numerous intervention especially in the Agricultural Sector has yielded positive results.
The CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, who stated this in Abuja at the 33rd edition of apex bank’s Seminar for Finance Correspondents and Business Editors said it was time for Nigeria to diversify its economy completely away from oil.
Represented by the Director, Corporate Communication Department, Osita Nwanisobi, the CBN Governor said through its Agriculture Credit Scheme, the bank supported commercial farmers in different value chains, including oil palm, cotton, cocoa, among others.
The CBN Governor further highlighted more intervening efforts of the apex bank in the economy to keep it afloat and stable.
The theme of the seminar is, “Policy Options for Economic Diversification: Thinking Outside the Crude Oil-Box”
