The need to accord priority to the less privilege and vulnerable population in the country has once again been emphasized. This is inview of various surveys indicating the threat they constitute to peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.
This consequences may have informed the birth of the Sure 4 U Rescue and Resettlement Initiative with key focus to turning them into responsible citizens.
Unveiling the initiative founded by the former comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service,Muhammad Babandede ,the minister of state for Finance, Budget and National Planning, Clement Agba applauded the gesture saying it will complement efforts of the government to enable the affected population contribute meaningfully to the socio economic development of the nation..
He added that the initiative will give prominence to the plight of the Almajiri’s and other vulnerable Nigerians as captured in the National development plan 2021- 2025.
Meanwhile, the founder of the Sure 4 U Rescue and Resettlement Initiative, Muhammad Babandede expressed reservation over the culture of Almajiri’s particularly in the north,emphasizing the need to change the Narrative before it results to criminality.
He further described the project as a non kinetic war against crime where the vulnerable are turned into responsible citizens.
Highlights of the ceremony was the unveiling of the Sure 4 U initiative, presentation of awards among others.
