The Peoples Democratic Party has asked the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately withdraw from the 2023 race over alleged fraud against and the hiring of fake clergymen to attend the APC’s unveiling of its Vice Presidential candidate.
Some alleged fake bishops and pastors whom the Tinubu’s campaign organization later described as “upcoming clerics” stormed the venue of Shettima’s unveiling as the running mate to Tinubu in Abuja
. The presence of the alleged clerics at the APC event attracted widespread criticism from the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria CAN and other Nigerians.
Briefing newsmen at the PDP National Secretariat in Abuja, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba said PDP the leading opposition party is appalled by the nauseating, blasphemous and unpardonable act by the APC in hiring street artisans, touts and criminals dressed in bishop’s vestments. Ologunagba noted that the alleged hiring of the controversial bishops is sacrilegious and embarrassing.
He added that such action is unacceptable and unbecoming of any individual aspiring to a leadership position at any level.
