Just In: Onnoghengate, You Have Case To Answer Tribunal Tells Suspended CJN .

Counsel to suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, Adeyboyega Awomolo in the ongoing case of non declaration of asset at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, has accused the Tribunal of failing to comply with procedures. He accused the tribunal of failing to comply with the Standard Operational Procedures guiding its operations especially as the highest authorities at the Code of Conduct Bureau were not consulted before the case was filed at the CCT. Awomolo, who also accused the CCB of failing to investigate and provide credible evidence to follow up the petition against the defendant added that the Supreme Court Judge had no case to answer in lieu of the fact that where there is no investigation, there can be no prosecution.
