Over 10, 000 Nigerians from across the 19 northern states converged on Abuja to protest over the Muslim-Muslim ticket adopted by the All Progressive Congress for the 2023 presidential election.
The Protest train under the auspices of the All Christians Community of Northern Nigeria marched from the unity fountain complex in the Maitama district of Abuja to the Presidential Villa where they submitted a protest letter.
The leader of the Group, Moses Adams in a chat with newsmen expressed reservation over the development and called on all Christians in the ruling party to speak against it.
He said the choice of Senator Shettima, a Muslim from North East Nigeria is unacceptable given the multi-ethnic and religious state of the nation.
The Group, however, called on President Buhari to do the needful saying the development if not properly addressed could cost the party victory in next year’s general election.
APC Presidential candidate Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu had last week announced former Governor of Borno state, Senator Kashim Shettima as his running mate.
