God Hates Corruption, Christians Must Speak Up – Clerics

Analysts are of the opinion that corruption is one of the major factors responsible for Nigeria’s underdevelopment.

To them, the case of the recent arrest of the former Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris who is being accused by the EFCC for stealing over 160 billion naira from the public Treasury is a typical example.

Speaking at an event in Abuja in commemoration of the 2022 African Anti-Corruption Day, the General Overseer, Palace Of Priests Assembly, Otive Igbuzor lamented the rising cases of corruption involving public officials.

He reminded Christians of God’s hatred for corruption, urging them to shun and speak up against the menace.

In the same vein, the Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, FCT chapter, Isaac Komolafe attributed the cause of corruption to greed as he advised Christians to always obey the word of God.

Heads of State and Governments of the African Union, AU, in 2011 declared July 11 every year as the African Anti- Corruption Day to assess the progress made on combatting the menace in the continent.
