Just In: University Education, Nigeria’s Government and ASUU resume negotiation

There is no doubt that the nation’s university system have been characterized by incessant industrial dispute owing to issues surrounding the implementation of the 2007 agreement reached by the federal government and the Academic staff union of Universities. As part of effort to change the narrative and ensure a smooth implementation of a uniform academic calendar for the system, the federal government has resumed negotiation with ASUU. Speaking with newsmen in Abuja at the end of the meeting that lasted for hours,chairman of the federal government negotiating team ,Dr Wale Babalakin described the session as fruitful.
