There is no doubt that the Private Sector world-over plays a pivotal role as a major stakeholder of the economy in accelerating the economic development of any nation.
Despite this critical role, Private Sector in Nigeria is bedevilled with lots of challenges caused by both global and domestic factors. In order to find an inroad to these challenges, the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) organised a two day summit to brainstorm with government and the organised private sector.
Speaking at the summit, President Muhammadu Buhari who was represented by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, assured the participants of his commitment to ensure that sustainable national growth is achieved. The Director General, Industrial Training Fund, Joseph Ari highlighted efforts put in place to surmount the challenges of unemployment in the country.
Some Development partners also spoke at the occasion. Earlier, the President, Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association, Taiwo Adeniyi spoke on need to establish a credible private sector that will promote inclusive growth. The theme of the two day Employers’ summit is, The Private Sector As An Engine For National Development.
