The National Bereau of Statistics and the Central Bank of Nigeria are set to conduct a survey on 33,300 household across the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
The Statistician General of the Federation, Prince Adeyemi Adeniran, disclosed this at the official kickoff of the NBS and CBN collaboration on national integrated household survey in Abuja.
He said the essence of the survey is to generate a reliable estimate of household income as well as track the success of the various intervaintions put in place by government in response to the effect of COVID 19 on household and individuals.
The Statistician added that, in days to come, trained personnel will be deployed to train over 400 field persons for the exercise. Earlier, in his remarks, the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele, represented by a Research Economist, Yakubu Bello, appealed to Nigerians to give maximum cooperation in terms of volunteering information as it will be made strictly confidential.
Some representatives of the two organizations further gave update on the targeted household.
The result of the survey will serve as a veritable source of data in tracking several policies and interventions of the Federal Government.
