2023 Polls: CSO Presents INEC With Modified Prototype Voting Cubicles For PWDs
As part of effort to ensure that Persons With Disabilities are not disenfranchised in the forthcoming 2023 general elections, a Civil Society Organisation, Inclusive Friends Association has presented the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with a modified prototype sample of a PWDs friendly voting cubicles.
While presenting the prototype cubicles at a consultative meeting with Organizations of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) at INEC headquarters in Abuja, IFA’s Executive Director, Grace Jerry said the recommended cubicle is aimed at enabling them actively participate in the elections.
She said cubicles were designed with flexible components to service PWD voters especially those using wheelchairs and roller skates for mobility for seamlessly exercise.
The group however, noted that, their mantra is cemented with the commitment to modify systems until accessible elections are achieved 100%.
