The screening of the 28 presidential aspirants jostling for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket will now hold on 23rd of May, 2022.
The National Organising Secretary of the party, Sulaiman Arugungu disclosed this shortly after the inauguration of the screening committees for aspirants seeking for the party’s Governorship, Senatorial and House of Representatives tickets in Abuja.
The adjustment which notifies the earlier date of the exercise fixed for 14 and 15 May 2022 will see all presidential candidates screened ahead of the APC Primaries.
Though indications suggests some Aspirants had withdrawn from the race, Arugungu clarified that the development would not affect the screening process.
Meanwhile, the APC National Chairman, represented by Sen Abubakar Kyari in his remarks expressed optimism in the ability of the committees to deliver on their mandate.
It is believed that the move to perfect a consensus arrangement by the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) informed the shift in the date scheduled for screening of the presidential aspirants gunning for the party’s ticket at the May 30 primary.
