Nigerian Envoy Meets German Counterpart to Discuss Trade, Education, and Security Cooperation​

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nigeria to Germany, Ita Solomon Enang, received the Ambassador-designate of Germany to Nigeria, Stefan Roessel, at the Embassy of Nigeria in Berlin.​

During the visit, Enang personally handed over the diplomatic visa processed by the mission to Roessel ahead of his assumption of duty in Abuja.​

The diplomatic meeting provided a platform for both representatives to discuss a shared vision for deepening and modernizing the Nigeria-Germany strategic partnership.

Key areas of focus included expanded cooperation in trade and investment, education, culture, innovation, regional peace and security, and people-to-people relations.​

Enang encouraged Roessel to engage widely across Nigeria during his tenure, emphasizing the nation’s rich cultural diversity, economic opportunities, youthful energy, and growing potential.

He also highlighted the importance of promoting a balanced and factual understanding of the country.​

In response, Roessel expressed enthusiasm for his upcoming assignment and reiterated his commitment to exploring new avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation between both nations.​

According to a statement by Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abuja, the encounter marks a key moment in bilateral relations, reflecting a joint commitment to building a stronger and more dynamic partnership.
