Women Groups Dismiss Allegations Against Works Minister, Umahi
A coalition of women’s organisations has rejected viral allegations made against the Honourable Minister of Works, David Nweze Umahi, by Mrs. Tracy Ohiri.
Addressing a news conference in Abuja, the groups described the claims as unsubstantiated and strategically timed to undermine governance.
The coalition questioned how an alleged ₦24.5 million transaction dating back to 2015 could exist without contracts, invoices, delivery acknowledgments, demand letters, or court filings nearly a decade later.
The groups also raised concerns about the timing of the matter now being instituted in court, describing the development as suspicious and politically motivated.
The coalition vowed to continue defending structured leadership and protecting public institutions from what it termed coordinated reputational sabotage.
Recall that Mrs. Tracy Ohiri had accused the Minister of sexual harassment and owing a debt of about ₦24 million.
