Valedictory: Secondus Led NWC Bows Out, Urges Gov. Obaseki To Speak Up On Bribe For Ticket.

The outgoing leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has charged Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, to speak up about the allegation of bribery made against the National Working Committee members on the processes that led to his nomination as governorship candidate of the party. PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, who spoke on the issue at a valedictory session organized at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja in honour of the outgoing NWC members, denied the allegation. He insisted that the party did not collect any form of bribe before clearing and giving the party’s ticket to Obaseki to contest the September, 2020 Edo State governorship election. In their various speeches, other outgoing members of the Uche Secondus NWC expressed appreciation for being allowed to lead the party in the last four years despite turbulent moments that led to the suspension of the party’s national chairman. Speaking on efforts to reposition the leading opposition party In the task ahead,the PDP incoming National Chairman, Iyorchie Ayu assured that no party member will be left behind. Meanwhile, former National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus, was absent at the valedictory session. The Secondus led NWC was elected to over see the affairs of the party on December 10, 2011.
