ust In: Police Frees 6 Madonna Students, Union Leader Accused Of Cyber Crime

Early this year, six students of the Madonna University, Okija, Anambra State were arrested and detained by security operatives for allegedly posting inciting opinions on Facebook about poor management of the institution by its authority. To press for the unconditional release of the detained students, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) led by its Vice President, National Affairs, Chidi Ilozobe recently staged a protest in Awka, Anambra State capital. The protest which did not go down well with the school authority led to the arrest of the NANS Vice President by the Nigerian Police in Enugu and transferred to Abuja for questioning. But the President of the Students Union in Madonna University, Okija, Danielson Akpan briefed newsmen on measures put in place to resolve the face-off.
