The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has nominated Iduma Igariwey to replace David Umahi as the governor of Ebonyi State following the judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja that sacked Umahi and his deputy Kelechi Igwe.
National chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu who announced the decision at a press conference in Abuja described the court verdict as landmark judgment. Ayu further disclosed that Fred Udeogu has also been nominated as deputy governor.
Ayu further urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue the nominees certificates of return.
Earlier In a judgment, Justice Inyang Ekwo of the federal high court Abuja sacked the 17 members of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly that defected with Umahi and his deputy into the ruling All Progressives Congress APC.
