UBEC Reviews Quality Assurance Matching Grant To 5%.
The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) reviewed the allocation for quality assurance from 2 per cent to 5 per cent of the Matching Grant to states.
Executive Secretary of the Commission, Aisha Garba disclosed this at a three-day refresher training in Abuja.
Garba while stating that the review demonstrates the Commission’s resolve to back policy with resources,
emphasised the critical role of quality assurance in strengthening Nigeria’s basic education system.
Earlier, the Director of Quality Assurance and Dean, SUBEB/UBEB Directors, Dele Owolabi spoke on the importance of their roles in strengthing the nations education system to meet the evolving needs of students and educators.
The training was held for Zonal Directors, Quality Assurance Officers, and Directors of Quality Assurance from the State Universal Basic Education Boards (SUBEBs) across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
