TMSG Hails ₦2.45trn Intervention Fund As Proof Of Tinubu’s Fiscal Discipline

The Tinubu Media Support Group (TMSG) has described the sustained disbursement of ₦2.45 trillion to sub national governments over a 17 month period as further evidence of the Federal Government’s fiscal discipline under President Bola Tinubu.

The group said details of recent financial support to states demonstrate prudence, equity and sound fiscal management by the current administration.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Emeka Nwankpa, and Secretary, Dapo Okubanjo, TMSG noted that the ₦2.45 trillion disbursed over the period was targeted at infrastructure and security projects across the country.

According to the group, between March 2024 and August 2025, the Tinubu administration released the funds monthly under a special intervention programme financed from non-oil savings, with the aim of accelerating project execution nationwide.
TMSG said although state by state disbursement details were not made public, it was evident that all states benefited from the intervention, describing this as a reflection of the administration’s non partisan approach.

The group recalled that the Infrastructure Support Fund was established in July 2023, shortly after President Tinubu assumed office, as part of measures to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal and ensure states could address critical infrastructure and security challenges.

It stressed that the intervention fund is separate from statutory monthly allocations from the Federation Account and was designed to prevent sub-national governments from being starved of funds needed for development.

TMSG urged state governments to ensure the funds are used transparently and for the direct benefit of Nigerians, particularly at the grassroots level.

The group also called on Nigerians to take greater interest in the governance of their elected representatives to promote accountability and ensure balanced growth and development across the country.
