TETFund, VON Partner To Boost Global Visibility of Nigeria’s Education Sector
The Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, and the Voice of Nigeria, VON, have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing global visibility for Nigeria’s education sector through expanded media collaboration.
Executive Secretary of TETFund, Arc. Sonny Echono, disclosed this while receiving a delegation from VON, led by its Director-General, Jibrin Baba Ndace, at the Fund’s headquarters in Abuja.
Stating that public understanding and appreciation of TETFund’s interventions have increased significantly due to visible projects across tertiary institutions nationwide, Echono added that stronger media engagement would further promote transparency and deepen public awareness.
He explained that the Fund is embarking on extensive project commissioning across the country and requires effective media coverage to keep Nigerians informed, particularly those in rural communities who rely heavily on radio for information.
Earlier, VON Director-General, Jibrin Baba Ndace, commended Echono’s leadership and ongoing reforms at TETFund, pledging the organisation’s commitment to amplifying the Fund’s activities to a global audience.
Ndace also proposed a structured collaboration that would allow VON correspondents nationwide to cover TETFund activities, translate reports into multiple languages, and support capacity building for communication teams within tertiary institutions.
End.
