The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has commissioned eight landmark projects at the Federal College of Education, Iwo, as part of activities marking the institution’s maiden convocation ceremony.

Some of the projects were named after the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, and the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Prof. Paulinus Okwelle, both of whom attended the event.

The commissioned projects include the College Administrative Building, Academic Building, Early Grade Reading Resource Centre, ICT Centre, Multi-Media Micro Teaching Laboratory, School of Sciences Building, Science Laboratory Building, and School of Languages Building.

Speaking at the event, the member representing the South-West geopolitical zone on the TETFund Board of Trustees, Hon. Sunday Adepoju, commended the College management for successfully delivering the projects.

He also praised Prof. Oloyede and Prof. Okwelle for their contributions to the development of education in Nigeria, noting that the honour bestowed on them by the College reflects their commitment to advancing the sector.

Adepoju assured that the Board of Trustees would continue to work towards ensuring quality educational delivery across TETFund beneficiary institutions nationwide.

In recognition of its intervention role in public tertiary institutions, the College conferred an institutional merit award on TETFund.

According to a letter addressed to the Fund and signed by the Provost, Prof. Rafiu Adebayo, the award was presented in acknowledgment of TETFund’s “outstanding interventions, visionary funding framework, and sustained contributions to the growth, infrastructure development, staff capacity building, and academic advancement of tertiary institutions in Nigeria.”

“The impact of TETFund’s support has been instrumental to the development and transformation of our College and many others nationwide,” the letter stated.
