Agencies in the ministry of Commutations and Digital Economy have been mandated to roll out grants to boost research activities in Nigeria. Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr ISA Patami issued the directive during a visit to his office by a delegation from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund Research and Development standing committee on information and communication technology and digital economy. He commended TETfund for the initiative saying it would entrench a knowledge based economy and tackle developmental challenges. Patami however charges the committee to focus more on encouraging collaboration between the academia and industry as well as promote skills development.
