The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) confirmed on Tuesday that electricity supply has been restored to the High Commission of Nigeria in Pretoria, South Africa, following a brief disconnection over unpaid utility bills.

In a statement released by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the government clarified that the “unfortunate issue” has been resolved.

According to the MFA, the Mission recently informed the Ministry that all outstanding arrears have been settled in full.

”The Mission has just informed that the outstanding bills have been paid and electricity has been reconnected,” Ebienfa stated.

The restoration follows reports of a service disruption at the diplomatic mission earlier this week.

With the financial obligations met, normal operations at the High Commission are expected to resume without further interruption.
