Nigerian Students Back Geneith Health Competition To Combat Malaria.
Major Nigeria’s student Associations have thrown their weight behind the one billion naira Geneith Health Competition aimed at mobilizing Nigerians students to lead the fight against malaria in the country.
The competition sponsored by Geneith pharmaceuticals aims to empower students across junior and senior secondary schools, including tertiary institutions to lead in the fight against malaria, a disease that continues to burden millions of Nigerians annually.
At a joint press conference in Abuja, the students leadership pledged support for the competition, describing it as timely and transformational.
Declaring open the portal for registration, the CEO of Geneith Pharmaceuticals, Emmanuel Umenwa, represented by Abimbola Bowoto, expressed optimism that the competition would encourage a lifelong health advocacy among youths in Nigeria.
Geneith pharmaceuticals as part of efforts to spice up the competition will give out ₦400 million as cash prizes to respective winners while ₦600 million worth of gifts and resources will be used to support the campaign’s outreach efforts.
