Nigerian Military Rescues 284 In Massive January Sweep, Neutralizes Key Terrorist Commanders
The Armed Forces of Nigeria has expressed significant stride recorded in the fight against insurgency, oil theft, kidnapping and other act of criminality across the country.
Addressing a news conference in Abuja, the Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Michael Onoja said about 284 kidnapped victims were rescued and several high-ranking terrorist commanders were neutralised across the country.
Detailing military’s success in dismantling criminal networks and recovering massive quantities of stolen energy resources in the Niger Delta Region, Major General Onoja said Troops discovered and destroyed 53 illegal refining sites and arrested 81 suspected oil thieves.
He further highlighted successes recorded in other theatre of operation across the country.
The Defence Headquarters however, urged Nigerians to assist the military and other security agencies in providing timely intelligence to check menace.
