The D-Day is here and voters across different age barriers have trooped out in their numbers in the Federal Capital Territory to elect presidential candidate and National Assembly Members of their choice amidst heavy security presence.
Channel Network Afrique CNA visited some voting centers around the Metropolis and observed that accreditation of voters was going on simultaneously with the voting exercise.
From the situation at the polling units visited, BVAS were seen performing optimally with minor incidence recorded at polling unit 5 adjacent Government Secondary School Garki, Area 10 where there was insufficient ink for stamping of the ballot papers by the INEC officials.
The situation was however resolved as the voting exercise continued peacefully.
First time voter, Favour John expressed joy for having exercised her franchise without hitches.
Other voters interviewed however appealed to the presidential candidates to accept the outcome of the election without inciting their supporters to cause violence.
Security operatives were seen maintaining peace and order at different polling units visited and were equally conducting stop and search at different locations in the nation’s capital city.
