The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has assured stakeholders that its operations remain uninterrupted despite the commencement of a skeletal remote work arrangement necessitated by an ongoing fumigation and sanitation exercise at its office.
In a statement issued by the Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, the Fund explained that the fumigation exercise, scheduled to run from Tuesday, December 23, 2025, through the end of the year, is part of its proactive efforts to maintain a safe, healthy and compliant working environment for staff and visitors.
She noted that during the period, only minimal staff presence has been approved for essential on site functions.
The precautionary measure, according to the statement, prioritises staff welfare, with particular consideration for pregnant women and women of childbearing age, who may be more vulnerable to exposure during fumigation processes.
“Staff safety remains paramount,” said the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr.
“While the fumigation exercise is necessary, NELFUND has taken deliberate steps to ensure that no employee is unnecessarily exposed to any potential health risk,” he added.
Owing to its robust digital infrastructure and well established remote work framework, the Fund assured that core operations including loan processing, stakeholder engagement, internal coordination and service delivery will continue remotely without disruption.
NELFUND explained that its systems are designed to guarantee continuity, efficiency and accountability, regardless of physical office presence.
The Fund described the temporary adjustment as a reflection of institutional foresight and responsible governance, demonstrating how technology can be leveraged to sustain uninterrupted public service delivery.
NELFUND further expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation of stakeholders during the period and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering transparent, efficient and student focused education financing services across the country.
