NECO Verifies Over 5 Million Results, Seeks Partnership With NOUN.
The Registrar of the National Examinations Council (NECO), Prof. dantani Wushishi, says the Council has verified over five million results since the introduction of its electronic verification platform in 2023.
Prof. Wushishi disclosed this when he led NECO’s management team on a courtesy visit to the new Vice-Chancellor of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof. Uduma Uduma, in Abuja.
Wushishi congratulated the Vice-Chancellor on his appointment and called for stronger collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in the area of results verification, to ensure that only credible and duly verified candidates are admitted into NOUN.
Highlighting NECO’s policy direction to migrate fully from paper-based examinations to Computer-Based Testing (CBT), Prof. Wushishi urged NOUN to partner with the Council by making its CBT infrastructure across the country available to support the transition.
Responding, NOUN Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Uduma Uduma, commended the NECO Registrar for the achievements recorded under his leadership and assured that the university would collaborate with NECO to ensure that results for the current academic session are duly verified.

Both institutions agreed, at the end of the meeting, to set up a joint committee with a mandate to streamline areas of collaboration, particularly in result verification and CBT operations.
