NECO Releases 2025 SSCE Results, Over 800,000 Candidates Score 5 Credits In Maths, English.

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) for internal candidates.

Announcing the release in Minna, Niger State, NECO Registrar, Prof. Ibrahim Wushishi, said the results were made public 54 days after the last written paper.

According to Prof. Wushishi, a total of 1,358,339 candidates sat for the June/July 2025 SSCE, out of which 818,492 candidates obtained five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.

The NECO boss reiterated the Council’s zero tolerance for examination malpractice, revealing that 3,878 candidates were involved in exam-related misconduct representing a 61.58% decrease from 10,094 cases recorded in 2024.


Providing a breakdown of state performance, Prof. Wushishi noted that Kano State recorded the highest number of candidates with five credits and above, including English and Mathematics, with 68,159 students meeting the benchmark.


The 2025 SSCE was conducted from Monday, 16th June to Friday, 25th July, 2025.
