NAF Strengthens Joint Force Synergy As Air Warfare Commandant Visits Maiduguri

The Commandant of the Air Warfare and Doctrine Centre (AWDC), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Ibrahim Jibia, conducted an operational assessment visit to the Headquarters of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in Maiduguri to strengthen airpower capabilities and joint force integration.

According to a statement signed by the ​Media Information Officer Headquarters Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba and made available to Channel Network Afrique, CNA, the visit served as an interface between the AWDC and aircrew deployed to the North East theatre.

AVM Jibia stated that the engagement aligns with the Chief of the Air Staff’s strategic focus on deliberate training and mission-oriented force development.
​During the visit, AVM Jibia emphasized the importance of “airmindedness” and integrated operations in building a professional, combat-ready force.

He received briefings on ongoing operations to help the AWDC make informed recommendations for enhancing operational effectiveness in the region.

​”The Service has intensified efforts to strengthen synergy, joint training, and integrated operations as essential attributes of a formidable fighting force,” AVM Jibia said.

He further commended the Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, for his leadership and praised the resilience of the troops in their efforts to restore peace to the North East.

​In response, Major General Abubakar congratulated AVM Jibia on his recent promotion and appointment.

He described the Commandant as a seasoned pilot whose expertise would bolster joint operations.

Abubakar reaffirmed OPHK’s commitment to adopting the AWDC’s innovative ideas regarding joint training and exercises.

​The Theatre Commander also expressed appreciation for the Nigerian Air Force’s sustained commitment to capacity development and its critical operational support within the theatre.

​The assessment was attended by senior military officials, including the Deputy Theatre Commander, AVM Olusola Akinboyewa, and the Chief of Staff of the Theatre Command, Brigadier General Sani Ahmed. The visit concluded with interactive sessions and an exchange of souvenirs.
