Miva Open University Matriculates 8,000 New Students, Unveils Nationwide Expansion Plan
Miva Open University has matriculated more than 8,000 fresh students for its 2025/2026 academic session, marking another major step in the institution’s rapid growth.
Speaking at the Matriculation Ceremony held in Abuja, the Chancellor of the University, Sim Shagaya, described the event as a defining moment in Miva’s evolution.
Shagaya revealed that the university’s total enrollment has now surpassed 18,000 students, the highest intake since it began operations in 2023.

As part of the institutions strategic growth, Shagaya announced an ambitious expansion drive that will see Miva establish 774 study centres nationwide.

In his keynote address, former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, commended the university’s innovative model, particularly its deployment of “professors of practice”industry experts who bring real-world experience into the classroom to enrich academic instruction.
