As the leadership crisis continues to rock the Labour Party, the Governor Alex Otti led faction has passed a vote of confidence on the Senator Nenadi Usman led National Executive Committee.
At a NEC meeting of the party,held in Abuja, the Abia state Governor and former Governor of Anambra state Peter Obi was also recognized as leaders of the party.
Speaking at the NEC meeting, the former minister of Finance and caretaker committee chairman of the party, senator Esther Nenadi called on the Abure led group to embrace peace by accepting the olive branch extended to build a virile opposition party ahead of 2027 election.
Meanwhile, Governor Alex Otti of Abia state on his party, affirmed the leadership of Senator Nenadi Usman as indicated in the recent judgement of the supreme Court.
Former presidential candidates of the party in the 2023 General election, Peter Obi dismissed rumors of leaving the party, insisting on reconciliatory efforts to unite aggrieved members.
