The Julius Abure-led leadership of the Labour Party (LP) has expressed willingness to reconcile with aggrieved members including key figures like Peter Obi and Governor Alex Otti on the condition that they publicly apologize for their actions.

This position was made clear by LP National Chairman, Julius Abure, during the party’s National Executive Committee (N isEC) meeting held in Abuja.

According to Abure, under his leadership, the Labour Party has emerged as one of Nigeria’s leading political platforms and must not be compromised for political expediency.

Also in attendance was the party’s 2023 vice-presidential candidate, Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, who expressed optimism that the party will bounce back.

The NEC meeting, which included LP chairpersons from all 36 states and the FCT, reaffirmed the party’s belief in securing official recognition from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) a move they say will resolve the lingering leadership crisis once and for all.
