Just In: Discrimination Against People Living With HIV Is A Crime Against Humanity, Group Warns
Statistics by the United Nations indicates that over 3.1 million Nigerians are living with HIV/AIDS with about 150,000 deaths recorded every year. The report further stated that Nigeria presently accounts for one of the highest rates of new infections in Sub Saharan Africa. While this is not good news considering efforts by government and international donor agencies to reduce the increasing trend of the scourge, the need to stop discrimination of positive persons has been identified as a key factor to achieving the desired result. This, the 2019 edition of the annual Zero Discrimination Day against people living with HIV/AIDS intend to achieve.
