Nigeria in the last one decade has had its own share of security challenges ranging from insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities. While kinetic measures had been mostly deployed by security agencies ,the presidential think tank on defense and security was also initiated to add bite to the onslaught against the criminal elements. The committee saddled with terms of references including accessing the degree of success and failure of measures taken to address threats and exploit avenue to establish strategy partnership and collaboration with foreign countries has concluded plans to convene a 2 day National Security on Protecting Nigeria’s Critical Infrastructure, infrastructure, Monuments and Business assets. The committee further canvassed reasons why Nigerians must put aside their differences and forge a common front with the armed forces and other security agencies to win the ongoing fight against terrorism and other security challenges.
